Create a Cleaning Timetable at the Start of the Month

Creating a cleaning timetable might seem like too much work. But, with a timetable, you can decide which days to do what cleaning and just stick to that instead of constantly worrying about cleaning. In a bedroom, you need to dust your mattress, change your beddings, clean your closet and wardrobes regularly. Deciding how often to do all this and assigning certain days which are convenient for you for doing such time-consuming cleaning tasks can really make it stress-free. You need to get your mattress professionally cleaned at least twice a year. You can decide the months and weeks in which you are going to get it done.

Creating a Cleaning Checklist

You can create different cleaning checklists based on how thoroughly you are planning to clean your bedroom. For everyday cleaning, you can just make your bed, dust, and sweep, keep clothes in containers, vacuum, and tidy up. But you have to deep clean your bedroom once a month so that you can ensure that every nook and corner is clean. In this way, your bedroom will stay clean, tidy, and healthy. You can create a checklist based on your priorities and important tasks and the time required. Here is a checklist that you can follow in order to make deep cleaning your bedroom easier.

Clear the Clutter

Make sure that you clear the clutter first. Take all the clothes and other things that are lying around and put them in labeled containers. Put clothes in laundry baskets and take the trash out.

Start With Your Wardrobe

Clean and tidy up your wardrobe. Fold your clothes and use hangers and organizers to keep them arranged. You can keep the clothes you use often in one place and the ones you don’t need regularly in another.

Remove the Furniture

Move the pieces of furniture out of the room so that you can thoroughly clean the floor and walls, remove cobwebs and dust bunnies. Check if there are any pest or termite infestations.

Clean and Wipe the Surfaces

Wipe the mirrors, windows, and fixtures in the room. Make sure that you clean the lights, dust the curtains and clean the carpets and rugs in the room. Get your curtains, rugs and carpets washed if you haven’t done it in a long time.

Change and Wash Your Beddings

Remove bedsheets and pillowcases and wash them. Dust the mattress properly. Dust and vacuum the mattress thoroughly and deodorize it.

Mop, Sweep, and Vacuum

Thoroughly clean the floors, corners, and vacuum to remove dust. Mop the floors to make sure that your floor is shiny. Make sure that you clean the attached bathrooms and closets too.

Make the Bed

Rearrange the furniture and remake your bed after cleaning the room thoroughly.

Once you are done with the cleaning, open your windows and let some fresh air in. Deep cleaning and regular cleaning are essential to maintain the air quality, health, and hygiene of a bedroom. Make sure that you have all the cleaning props and take the necessary safety precautions before you clean. If you don’t have enough time in hand, you can always get the help of a deep cleaning professional.
